The enemy parties consist of monsters, bosses, or members of each of the five humanoid races who populate Ivalice. Others require a certain skill or job class. Some missions require a special item to accept it this may mean another mission must be done first. The missions of varying difficulty are offered in pubs scattered around the world map, and a fee must be paid to partake they are essential to advancing the story and obtaining valuable items and experience points.
